Ummm, not feelin' it. I think the Maemo interface was much better, one to be feared in the new mobile age. This just looks like a reworked S60 interface. The stuff Android is putting out with 2.1 leaves S^3 with so much to be desired. In fact, it looks more like Windows Mobile 6.5 at best (even Microsoft gave up on that blocky look with Windows Phone 7).

I see why they did what they did: try to keep it familiar to existing users. But let's face it: S60 may be "mature" but it was also created when 3.7" touch screens didn't exist. People complained when DVRs came out because they didn't work like a VCR (I was one of them, being an early adopter). But I'm pretty sure they'd all agree a DVR is better than a VCR. Sticking with an interface because it's familiar isn't "necessarily" a smart thing. Making it intuitive and visually appealing (like Maemo) is smart.

If Nokia wants to be a contender in this new world, they should cut their losses with this now and concentrate on Maemo.

They did a poor job communicating to the press. S^3 is like windows vista. It lays the groundwork for S^4 which is "different". Different UI, different app structure etc.

S^3 gets rid of bugs, streamlines the current UI {i.e. no more double taps, less confusing designs etc).

S^4 device expected MWC11 so I'd suggest u wait for that or atleast wait for the reviews when S^3 hits the market Q3 '10.

I don´t know… After the disappointment I had from N97 I will hardly believe in Nokia againg. This UI seems so symbian, an O.S. not designed for touch devices, N97 is the prove.
