@aamir you're totally right, sorry I didn't mention that carriers kill the phones potential in the US, I live in Guatemala, and carriers here don't care on what you do with your terminal, voip, wifi, you name it, won't matter, of course after I got an unlocked E71 I wa able to enjoy every aspect of my phone, in an unlocked carrier here, so, long live unlocked phones! No matter brand and OS as long as you can exploit its full potential.

@daniel: completely agree with everything you said... one thing i would like to add is that it doesn't matter if the platform is open-source or no, it matters if the features on the phone are locked, symbian was closed source os like everybody else until two years ago.. but it was nokia that let you do anything with ur phone... Install anything on your phone... One major reason why i think Nokia is not popular with US carriers is because they have so many features that don't let the carriers to suck money out of you.. Remember the e62, atnt took out wifi and the sip hardware so you couldn't add voip... I'm on t-mobile and absolutely love them, but i still won't buy their phones. A friend of mine has a blackberry and she can't connect to wifi because t-mobile has locked it down to use only their hotspots. Go figure.. Its the carriers i blame that take a perfectly fine phone and make it a dumb phone and to some extent the phone manufacturers that give in to their demands. Except apple, of course. they make their own rules.

1st. of all, thank you for the great reviews and videos of each platform, I think regular consummers should check out all this reviews before going to get their new phone. From my point of view, many of the people getting new phones this year are planinng to move to a confident brand/OS, I mean, most of the people getting smartphones in 2010 are people that haven't had one before, so the problem (advantage) is that there are many options, Nexus One, Iphone 3GS, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Nokia (both Maemo and Symbian). I'm a Symbian fan, a happy E71 owner, and I'm really struggling to decide wich phone to upgrade to at the end of the year, and even if I'm upgrading, for now, my options are the Nokia E72, N900 and Nexus One, I won't move to Iphone, BlackBerry or Windows Mobile, no way, let me explain why, I'm not an Itunes user, so I want my music, pictures and apps, my way, any time, not software or App Store locked, BlackBerry is great, but I want my email and IM clients to be just network dependent, and not platform dependant, and windows mobile, well, I know some friends that have the Samsung Omnia and the fact that the battery life is so.... short, and of course, its microsoft (not open source at all) leaves it out of the options for me.

I know that not all the users in the world are looking for Open Source, or even understand the benefits of it, but on my own personal experience, Android and Maemo are the future, yes, N900 has not many apps yet, but so did symbian at the begining, even Android, so there's hope, I would say, Nokia has to really invest in great developers for GREAT built in apps in their terminals, not all, but esential apps at least, so that a user that grabs a phone (smartphone) gets what its expecting of it.

Thank you very much for all this reviews, I'll spread the word to as many people I can so they can see all the platforms in action.

BR
