I think that SBSH takes care of the missing bits from the reminders in the S60 calendar and its options. In s40 devices you could merely choose that the phone should remind you about a call, which to me is pretty important… It shows you the caller’s name and number and then if it suggests to call him/her I feel it’s the best solution there is… however it’s missing from the S60 devices for no reason. IMHO, S60s should sport better reminders which are more flexible and offer more control over the phone features i.e. profile switching, call making, etc. so we won’t need to turn to 3rd party apps anymore

I boast to my colleagues at work that I use my smartphone very effectively and that its more than just a toy. I let them know, at every opportunity that I actually use it to improve my productivity. In an effort to demonstrate that, I set a meeting reminder on my phone for a meeting the next day afternoon and told them that I'd be the first to arrive at the meeting. (we are known to turn up late for meetings)

But how often have we set meeting reminders without considering AM/PM? Instead of setting the meeting reminder for 6 PM, I set it for 6 AM. And I missed the morning reminder since it wasn't loud enough to wake me up. I could have at least corrected the appointment details if I had woken up to the reminder. So I turned up late for the meeting and was the laughing stock of my team for a few days. I blamed the meeting moderator for not sending an Outlook invite (didn't go down well with the team). That way, I said I only had to sync with Outlook and I would have got the right meeting info on my mobile. I used this as another opportunity to explain that Outlook sync is a godsend feature.

Hey I have experienced many such situations in of alarm malfunctioning. But here is the most Wierd one. I had an exam of Social Science, and I had two chapters remaining to cover. So I decided to cover them early morning. I set the alarm at 5 AM. since we had at that time only phone present in the house, I kept it with myself. But when I woke up and saw the time it was 7 !! My School Van was to come at 7:20, I hurriedly took bath, wore my school dress, and after a few minutes the van, came. Since by that time I had to comb my hair, take breakfast. So I kept praying that bus should wait for five minutes more.. But the next moment, I heard the sound of Bus going away from my house. I missed the bus, and when I got fully ready, it was 7:40 by that time. I took a taxi and it took me some 10 minutes to reach school, and another ten minutes to walk towards the school. I got late, and had to miss the morning assembly and had to stand outside till the assembly got over. By that time I got about 20 minutes to revise the remaining two chapters, and finally I gave the exam and got 91 out of 100 marks

Freshmen year of college had an ethics final at 10 am the whole semester my at&t music phone woke me up fine the whole semester I pulled an all nighter studying for this test I got to bed at 6 am set the alarm for 915 of course the phone doesn’t wake me up 10;05 my classmate calls me up and says “jeff you know we have a final right now” I drop the phone run out the house get in my car and race off to school. The school is only 3 miles away i got there in under 10 minutes had to run to class got there just in time before the teacher wouldn’t allow me to take it. Had just enough time to finish and got a 94 on the exam. happy ending ftw

I switch profiles from General, Silent, to my custom Library that doesn’t vibrate. I use all three during the course of my day at school. However, a couple weeks ago before my 8:00 A.M. class, I forgot to switch over to Silent and my phone rang. My professor made me stand up in place and sing “I’m a Little Tea Pot,” in front of everyone. Yes, it is a small class of about thirty people but it was still very embarrassing .
