Will Samsung announce a S60 5th Edition device at MWC?
I am saving up my money for the Nokia N97 and am still planning for it, but the new Samsung shown off over at Engadget today is also a contender for my hard earned cash. The Samsung i8910 has been revealed a couple places this week and the thought at first was that this would be a Windows Mobile 6.5 device. As the photo below (thanks to Engadget) clearly shows it is running S60.
The Samsung i8910 may also have an 8 megapixel camera, HDMI support, and more. MobileBurn also has some more information on the rumored device.
I am still more of a fan of hardware keyboards, but this device does look pretty slick. Are you drooling now?

The Samsung i8910 “Acme” does look very **** but it doesnt have a QWERTY keyboard. Things will start to get interesting if it comes with a Xenon flash though.

Yes- I’m drooling. It’s the HDMI output that does it for me. The composite out on my Nokia handsets is a joke IMO, but a feature I’d love to use. 720p out will do nicely for me!
If it had a hardware keyboard, I’d jump ship from my beloved Nokia for this one.
Here’s hoping for a shocker from Finland at MWC… with the last couple of devices that Samsung has pulled out of the bag, I’m left wondering why I’ll be waiting so eagerly for the N97- clearly it’s going to have the same old tired (and useless to me) composite out. Lame.

I really like the looks of it…
However, after playing only 10 minutes with the 5800, I came to the conclusion that unless the screen is capacitative, I don’t think I want it. The screen was reasonably responsive, but not close to iPhone standards. I was a little disappointed, but sometimes reality hurts

I think a wakeup call for Nokia, if it doesn’t introduces a 8 mp camera phone…It is really going to be hit hard….Samsung is really emerging a competitor for Nokia in S60 world, first up innov8 and now acme…it is posing a threat to nokia’s domination in s60… and yeah cheers to Samsung….

One more thing…I want Mathew please put those ads on the right side of the page where there is tons of free space…in the middle of the article and on the front page its very annoying when u r interrupted by a ad… Please take it as a feedback and don’t take it harsh
