Nokia USA confirms black N97 shipping, no white ones yet

I have not ordered mine yet. I am waiting for your review before i pull the trigger. You are the best. I just saw Steven Litchfield’s review from All About Symbian and he is not really thrilled about the N97.

Ordered black but don’t think mine will get out today and I have a sinking feeling since I ordered so late today I may have missed the boat on this shipment… but hopefully not…

I decided to change things up too and went with white though I ordered mine from Amazon. The black unit is still showing a shipping date of 6/30 while the white unit has been changed to ‘Out of stock’.

Hi Matt Just got off the phone with Nokia CS and white one will be available in July????:( Placed order for black one hopefully will ship tomorrow but here is funny thing You don’t get bluetooth headset (which I can care less) but I wanted extended warranty and you get $40 off your order but it not available in NY and FL for some stupid reason and I was able to get discount anyway.

Just thought about it. Did Nokia honored the pricing error (I believe it was $545?) on their website when the N97 was up for pre order few weeks ago?

I ordered the black on with the price glitch too, i did 3 day shipping hopefully this friday ill have it.

Well, nothing showing that it shipped yet, this is not good. I was hoping by today that it would have been. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

I just got a 5800 xp and my partner will flip a lid if I buy an N97 right now I hope to get one though!!

I just called to see if they had an answer on the white models and the customer service rep said in 2 weeks. He was going to let me cancel and order the black so I could get it by tomorrow, but I was able to get the deal with the BT headset and decided just to wait it out.

Hmmmm. So I had ordered online. I just called to check on the status and was transferred to another person who said I needed to verify my order. They said since my bill to was different than my ship to. The annoying thing is I hadn’t received any notification of having to verify so what were they going to do? Let my order sit in limbo for a few days!? Very aggravating. Next up the lady I spoke with sounded really aloof, said she’d send over the verification via email to her supervisor and they could finish the order. I asked if that meant it would get out today. She inspired no confidence by yeah I think so. I’ll be pretty ticked if I paid for overnight, called and followed up and still end up not getting it until Friday or Monday. Get it together Nokia. There are tons of other online stores and I never have had to do any of this to make sure when I place an order for something overnight that it actually does!

i also preordered a white one in may, and my friend ordered one in black. ill give them a call today and see what the expected ship dates are for both. hopefully its soon, i cant believe that even though i preordered it, the flagship stores are selling them first, the funny thing is i live very close to the chicago store, but since i cant cancel my preorder i have to wait for them to ship it to me rather than going to the store and buying it today.

You can always return the preorder unit too since Nokia does have a good 30-day return policy. Does anyone know if the white ones are at the Flagship Stores? I haven’t heard of anyone buying them at the stores yet.

I talked to someone who said no, the flagship didn’t have the white in yet but expected them by Friday. So who knows….

I ordered mine yesterday, (white) and the lady said the black ones are in stock, and the white ones should arrive either today or tomorrow. I chose overnight and she promised me I would have it by Monday-Tuesday of next week. I love the white one, I would not mind the wait. Anyone knows why fring is not available on the N97?

I called to check my order status on the black one, I was told they can’t look it up right now but “we were told that they will be going out today”. Yeah sure, I’m not holding my breath……

SOOOOO LAME!! Just called and they said I needed to verify my order. This is the 2nd time today I have verified. They said I missed the cutoff and won’t get it tomorrow. SO angry. Anybody who hasn’t ordered I advise to steer clear of NokiaUSA, order from Amazon or someone else. This is ridiculous. On a positive note they say they have been overwhelmed with orders.

Just got the confirmation that my black n97 will be in san diego at my door tomorrow! I can’t believe they didn’t screw up worse.

Just talked to some idiots down in Tampa, Jessica and Gaby. Two inexperienced customer service reps. Nokia usa coroporate might be good, but in that office they are all so bad and lame. I was trying to get some info about shipping and it looked like they were doing me a favor. I wish Nokia would hire some professional people and not uneducated people to offer c.s. , they don’t even want to talk. This is bad. Nokia’s corporate office should read this.

Matthew, I have a question about the Widget interface on the N97. Do you think the widget interface is processor intensive, in that do you think the E71, E63 or E75, or similar S60 3.1/2 device could handle it? Second do you think that we (owners of the above mentioned devices) would likely see the feature in future firmware or OVI apps?

my cousin who ordered a black one got the shipping notification email yesterday, i ordered a white one at the same time as him, so hopefully the people at howardforums.com are right and i get the email today or tomorrow. i also called nokia CS and they said they were expecting a delivery of white n97 this week, but didnt know when exactly, and that mine would ship as soon as they got them in stock

just checked up on my amazon pre-order and the white ones are still showing as “Temporarily out of stock” while the black model has now changed to the June 25 date. also, the price for the white model has gone up to $682.94.

Hey Matthew, Just to let you know, spoke to Nokia and the white models have started shipping today and tomorrow . Let us know when yours arrives. Im in the bay area cali, will see who gets it first hehe. By the way great site, congrats. follow it all the time via widsets(still running so far) & i like what your site is about for USA nokia consumers.

I called Nokia on the 10th and was advised that I would get the white N97 next week for sure. Kinda stinks, I was on vacation this week to enjoy the unboxing and set up of the n97. lol, I work 10 hour shifts so won’t be able to play much unless I don’t sleep, which will most likely be what happens…. : )

I got mine today (White), I thought I was never going to get it either. I am at work right now, I cant wait to get home and play with it =)

I did not receive a confirmation until the device was actually shipped and then it was about 11 pm at night the day before it was scheduled to arrive. The website status NEVER showed anything to let me know it was pending, shipping, etc.

I am so frustrated with Nokia it isn’t funny. I still have NO phone, pre-ordered in mid May. Every time I call, I get the same story, your phone will be going out soon. This morning I was on hold for almost 2 hours and got the same “should” go out today line.

I am sooooooooooooooo ready to cancel this order.

I am waiting for white one too. I am happy that some of you got your white phone. I called Customer service today. They said i will get mine by Friday June 19th. I ordered on May 12.

Please be careful, these guys are chaeting.They donot have yet n97 in stock. They keep telling, you need to call nokia after order etc etc, back roder etc. They are still preorder stage, hang on or buy other phone. There customer erice sucks

I got my phone on June 19th. I canceld my Preorder on June 17th and ordered again on same date. I called them 4 times a day Until they called me and told me my order was shipped. some of their Customer service agents are bad they will not bother to check your order number. They will just ask you when did you place your order by the date they will tell you when your order will be shipped. After getting call from NOkia customer service that my order was shipped. I called again after 3 hours to get Tracking number but that agent end up telling me they will ship on Monday. I called again in hour and another agent said it will be shipped tonight. So it is a mess. It is better to order from somewhere else. Anyway I got my phone and I am happy with it.
