Nokia N97 available around the world in June, US too?
The Nokia N97 was announced last Fall at Nokia World, but Nokia has never said exactly when it was going to launch and previously said Summer of 2009. They posted a press release stating it is coming to 75 countries in June. I also understand the UK will have it on 19 June, but no other specific dates are known. The 75 countries are not listed so we don’t know if the US is included, but I sure do hope it is. I have a lot of soccer, camping, and other family activities where I would love to have my N97 around for capturing photos and video, while enjoying video content on the massive memory of the device. The more I look into the N97, the more I get excited about the device and I really cannot wait for its launch.
I’ll continue to poke around and try to find out about the US availability and if I hear anything I will let you know. Anyone else excited about the Nokia N97?

From initial reports it seems the screen is alot more responsive compared to the 5800XM. In videos the kinetic scrolling looks to be almost on par with the iphones despite being a resistive screen. Also some people complained about the n97 not having enough SDRAM or a low CPU compared with some competitors, but in the latest video review floating around,the device doesnt seem terribly laggy. I cant wait! My only diappointment would be that it wont support tmobiles 3g but if the rumors about the new internet tablet coming to tmobile are true then maybe i will finally be able to use their 3g!

I can’t wait for mine for same reasons as you!! I am thinking about joining Somali Pirates as I might have better luck getting one in week or two. And if that doesn’t work, than I will order one from Amazon might as well save some money. Damn Nokia pre-order club!! “Get yours before anyone else…” Oh well….

I’m very excited. I pre-ordered from Amazon since it’s about $100 cheaper. I wanted to order from Nokia to be part of the “pre-order club”, but not at the cost of $100 more.

Yes i cant wait to get my hands on this device im uk based my b’day is on the 19th mmm happy b’day me i spose lol even though the cpu is lower than the i8910 i think nokia have an uncanny nack of squeezing the last ounce of cpu power out of there devices.
