Nokia Messaging for 5th Edition available now on Nokia Beta Labs
I wrote a bit about the Nokia Messaging client for S60 5th Edition devices and there were so many requests for the application that Nokia decided to make it available to everyone on the Nokia Beta Labs site. If you have a Nokia 5800, then you need to get this application since it blows away the default Messaging client.
There are still some areas that need attention so please try it out and give them feedback so they can make it even better.

Unfortunately this is so buggy on my NAM 5800 that I had to uninstall it. Did you have any problems Matthew? I know this is a beta, so I hope going forward they will work on the kinks.

what kinks? it works fine for me, the only think i would have liked is to see some sort of home page notification, like the tiny @ symbol in the top right corner.

Got it to work correctly. I think there may have been a problem with the installation. Looks great so far!

I downloaded and installed wrong initially because I didn’t read the directions very carefully on the beta labs site. If you are in NAM, then you download anb install the .sis file. Run the program until the splash screen comes up that askes for you to set up or and email account. Go to email.nokia.com and set up an account or log in. Pic any phone in the list to send the SMS to your phone for installation. Once recieved DO NOTHING WITH IT! This is where I messed up and installed the file from the SMS! Go back to the program and finish setting up your email. Delete the SMS it is just a test to make sure you recieve it!
Thanks Michael. I knew this was the method for how I downloaded and installed the earlier beta and should have informed everyone to make sure to READ THE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS because it is unlike anything else I have installed before.
