Nokia intros Java Runtime 2.0 for S60 devices
One of my online buddies, Dietrich, sent me a link to this Nokia Beta Labs post where they announced the release of Java Runtime 2.0 for S60 devices. According to the Beta Labs post the JRT 2.0 update gives you:
- One-click application installation
- Improved application launch user experience
- Improved execution performance

Actually, according to the site, it’s ONLY compatible with 5th edition devices.
It’s a huge file, 4mb, which the 5th edition devices can just barely spare. While there are some minor speed improvements, it disables some apps like opera mini completely. Definitely a beta.
