Love the one you’re with is my recommendation, there will always be a woman more beautiful than the one you love, a better car, a better phone, better… It is not about the gadget, it is about the way you use it. So, I am happy with my oldie but excellent Nokia N79.

Wow, is this HUGE or what?! I just got my N900 a few days ago Jeremiah, and I absolutely love it! It’s amazing how much these things can do. I’m also hoping that this MeeGo will be made available for the N900. But I’m weary, what will happen to our precious Maemo? I’m really liking the OS on my N900, and don’t want it diluted with some other junk…

Yeah I am hoping they still will, but still would like some signal as to whether Meebo will come to the N900. Personally I think it makes a great deal of sense for it to since it would give Meebo developers a device to test on now on beta builds etc. Here’s to hoping!

jeremiah, maemo 5 will get in its next uptdate Qt4.6 so yes they will develop for the N900 because it can be ported to symbian^3 meego maemo 6 etc

You’ve got to be kidding me. I just ordered my N900 yesterday. It’s going back now almost guaranteed unless I get confirmation in the next 24 hours that Meebo will be coming to it. This basically assures no one will be developing for Maemo5.

I think this is why Nokia has been so quiet on the N900/Maemo 6 subject. This merger will involve some big changes and porting back to an older device will probably be more hassle than its worth.

Of course, they made a big deal of pointing out this new OS will be 100% open source (Maemo was not). That means it will be much easier for the community to port it to the N900 if they wish. (Not counting netbooks and other x86 devices).

I think that hint on N900 being a perfect device was more about ARM than the device itself as Nokia are bringing the ARM support to MeeGo.
