Nokia and Facebook, a social networking match made in heaven?
I have had a Facebook account for a while now, but haven’t been using it that much due to the limited mobile versions. The BlackBerry and iPhone clients are pretty full featured and when I use those devices I tend to be more active on Facebook. My new church has a Facebook group and my pastor is quite active so I have been using it more and more lately. My college and high school classmates are also getting on Facebook so my usage is definitely going up. Scoble thinks the upcoming Nokia N97 is the ultimate Facebook device that even beats out the iPhone. Nokia Users reports that Nokia and Facebook really are in serious discussions about actively support Nokia products and we may see an announcement this week at Mobile World Congress.
Speaking of Facebook on your Nokia device, Steve Litchfield posted on how you can get a very good experience with this social networking service right now on your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device. There is a Facebook shortcut (made to look like an application in the Download! area) that takes you to the standard mobile site on the 5800. Steve discovered that the iPhone shortcut to Facebook works much better and gives you very good way to use your Facebook account on the device.
I will be buying a Nokia N97 when they are released in the US and look forward to a possible partnership between Nokia and Facebook. Do you use Facebook? Do you use it on a mobile device?

yep, using it on my BlackBerry, and it is just so cool to hear it ring as soon as I get a new Facebook notification…

Yes, I use it on both my Blackberry and my iPod Touch. I must say that the experience is far better on the Touch than on the Blackberry. I really hope that RIM updates the FB app soon, as I find it too limited. I would use it a lot more as my BB 8310 is always with me.
I am looking forward to the release of the N97 and it may become my “play” phone. My BB is my work phone and I would not use anything else to help me run my business. NOBODY does push email like RIM!

I use the mobile facebook site on my E71… the experience is not great. I would certainly like to have a full-featured mobile facebook app!

I use Facebook on my iPod Touch. N95 is great and all but the experience is just not the same with big screen. Even though I did pretty good with T9, I still type faster with on screen Qwerty keyboard.

I use the cut-down mobile version on my N70. That works fine but is pretty limited.
Far worse is trying to use any flavour on my N800 tablet. No version of Facebook works well. The least-worst option is to use the iPhone version!
I think Nokia/Facebook need to do better.
We need a Nokia Experts Facebook group.
