Nokia Facebook client appears in the Ovi Store for free
Those of us who have a Nokia 5800 have been waiting patiently for the Facebook application we have seen on the upcoming Nokia N97 to be available for us too. All About Symbian points to some good news for all you 5800 owners, Facebook is now available in the Ovi Store for free. I downloaded and installed it on my 5800 and it works like a charm. I tried to get it on my Nokia E71x, but it did not appear in the Ovi Store and only appears to work with 5th Edition devices at this time.
The Facebook application for Nokia S60 is a web-runtime widget and allows you to view news feeds, events, post status updates, view photos, view friends, manage your inbox, and post photos. It works in both portrait and landscape and is a decent client that I have been playing with for a month or so.

Too bad it’s only S60v5 at the moment. Can’t wait to see a Facebook client for the E71(x). It’s good to see Research in Motion be progressive with Facebook on the BlackBerry and hopefully Nokia will follow suit with for their “BlackBerry killer” device.

anyone having issues installing this app. my phone says that the install has completed but i have no icon to launch it. im using a nam version of the the 5800 with the latest nam firmware

Yea, where is the facebook client for Series 60 v3? How about a Facebook client for my Nokia E71? is that too much to ask Nokia? Heck even a pathetic Blackberry has the client. I really feel like buying another phone cuz any phone company which doesn’t even supports its own phones is not worth buying.
You may also use this 3rd party app on Nokia phones http://www.socially.in. It additionally allows you to see the caller’s recent activity on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn when they call you on your phone.
