Nokia 5800 NAM 3G issue fixed with firmware update
While the Nokia 5800 NAM launch did not go so well, according to Ricky the 3G issue has been fixed with a firmware update. I guess this means that it was indeed a Nokia issue and not an AT&T network issue, huh? I’m not sure when the fixed 5800 devices will be available for sale yet, but hopefully those that ordered online will get an updated device since you never know when the Nokia Updater will actually get the update to do it yourself after you receive your device.
I still think it would have been better to at least have launch parties in New York and Chicago at the Flagship stores. Seeing the excitement generated by the launches in the UK, Singapore, and China makes me think there would have been a fair level of excitement here in selected areas of the US, even without carrier support.

Im so tempted to buy this phone, but the prospect of the n97 is holding me back. Is there any definitive release date? Ive been reading June, but what does that mean for the NAM variant?

An online retailer had the n97 available for pre-order and said the price would be roughly $975 USD, but a nokia spokesperson called that price outrageous, but said the release date of June seems about right. Heres hoping to a competitive pricepoint on the phone!
