Native S60 YouTube client now available
I read on the internet last night that YouTube released a couple of new mobile clients, one for Windows Mobile and one for S60. The Nokia E71 blog takes an in-depth look of the new mobile application on the Nokia E71, my favorite S60 device. We have been able to view YouTube videos before through the web browser, but this is actually a dedicated S60 application with a .sis file to install on your device.
You simply visit www.youtube.com on your S60 device browser and you will see a hyperlink to download the application and install it. It should work with all recent S60 devices, but I have only tried it on my E71 so far. I need to try it on the 5800 since that is running 5th Edition and I have found limitations on software working on that device. Anyone tried it on a 5800 yet?

Scroll through titles with thumbs, then it zooms to fill screen. Nice!
I never watch anything Youbube related but this may turn me on to it when im on the train.
I’m impressed with this app. The video quality is great, much better than m.youtube.com was. I like it on the E71’s landscape display. One thing that I noticed is that the app won’t allow multi-tasking. When going to the homescreen or if there is a pop up window, play stops.

I just tried on my 5800 V20xxx and there was no hyperlink to download the app

This app is very nice… It lets you either WIFI or 3G network.
As Brad Barbaza mentioned, this app has no multi-tasking, which is fine for a mobile, but what really puts me off is the fact that you cant login with your Username and Password, therefore you cant access 18+ content since some videos are on the list but wont play and you cant comment on any videos whatsoever, which its clearly not the real YouTube, but only a basic youtube video player app.
