Google Android Hands-on Video, Smartphone Round Robin
The second full week of the Smartphone Round Robin event officially begins today. This week I’m taking a look at the Google Android platform, including the Sprint HTC Hero and Verizon Motorola DROID – comparing it to Nokia’s Symbian and Maemo platforms. There is quite a bit of excitement around the Android platform at the moment with the heavy advertising for the Verizon Motorola DROID and Google Nexus One. If you have used both a Google Android device and a Nokia N900 I think you will see quite a bit of similarity in regards to the desktop idea and use of widgets.
To get the conversation started I’ve started a thread over at the Android Central forums to get feedback from Google Android users. Dieter Bohn from PreCentral.net will be making a post here on Nokia Experts that I will link to created this post where he is asking Nokia owners questions about our platforms. By participating in the discussion you will be entered into the drawing for your own Nokia smartphone (model to be determined) at the end of the Smartphone Round Robin event. Please read the contest details for more information.
Check out a video after the break of me using a couple of Google Android devices and talking to Casey Chan about them and the Google Android platform. My review of the Android platform, with thoughts on the HTC Hero and Motorola DROID, will be posted here on Friday so stay tuned and please visit the other Smartphone Experts sites to participate in the discussions of all platforms.
