I Live in the Bay Area, where TMobile Service is spotty at best. Especially in San Francisco and Daily City where I work Contracts at times. I have the best speeds though Can even VidCon on the Tmobile Cellular Network While Driving. Helps when I need to see a Contact and use my Bluetooth to explain what they need to prep for me before I get there. It Works Great. So I guess it's truly the area your in.

I live in the Chicago land area and have owned an N900 since late 2009 with T-Mobile. I have NEVER seen my download speed go over 300kb/second. And beyond that my average speed is around 90kb/second.

So no, HSPA+ is not all that great.

I am really enjoying the T-Mobile network. I doubt I would have picked up a T-Mobile line without having the contract-free option since my main line is still on AT&T (ugh), but their Everything Plus plan is great. I don't think we have the higher speeds in the area yet, but it is nice to be on a non-congested 3g network again. It reminds me of the good old days before the iPhone 3G when I was using Windows Mobile...
