What the heck’s the difference between Opera Mobile 10 and Opera Mini 5?
The S60 web browser, the first Webkit-based browser, has been around for a couple of years and back in the day I found it to be a fantastic browser. I still think it is a solid browser, but the great thing about Symbian is that we have options and those options just recently expanded quite a bit with the rollout of Opera Mobile 10 for the Symbian platform. Opera Mobile has been the leading browser for Windows Mobile for the last year or two and is actually the browser primarily used by HTC as their default browser. On the Symbian platform we have seen Opera Mini for a few years, which is a very good proxy-based browser that allows you to save on data costs and experience faster loading speeds thanks to the back-end server working for you. If you are trying to figure out which of these two Opera browser solutions you should put on your Symbian device, then I recommend you check out this Opera post detailing the differences between the two.

Then again, if you are like me you can load both up on your device since they are both free and switch your usage depending on your browsing needs. I use Opera Mobile when I want the “full Internet” and use Opera Mini when I am on EDGE and want a speedy experience. Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 works on S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and 2 and S60 5th Edition devices with the following devices as certified as tested by Opera: E51, E52, E55, E63, E66, E71, E75, N78, N79, N81, N82, N85, N86, N95 8GB, N96, N97, 5320, 5630, 5800, 6220c, 6720c, Samsung i7110, Samsung i550, Samsung Omnia HD, Samsung Innov8, and Sony Ericsson Satio. You can download Opera Mobile from the Opera Mobile website or by entering m.opera.com/mobile into your web browser.
Both are great browsers and the wonderful thing for us Symbian users is that we have the opportunity to use both and enjoy the benefits of both.

I downloaded the newest beta of both and ran into problems copying and pasting text on Opera Mobile. When trying to copy text, the browser jumps to the top of the page and became impossible to deal with. I also dislike the on-screen qwerty keyboard and wish there was a way to turn it off on the N97 – it takes up too much real estate. Hopefully they can somehow encorporate that option in a final release. I also noticed less crashes with Opera Mobile which was so common and a pain to deal with.
Good thing my N900 came in and have been using for the past day, even typing this comment on it. It was everything you said it was.
