I found a great syncing solution that does contacts, calendar, and email at the following link.

http://www.seven.com

Click “Try Seven” then choose your device. You can install over the air.

In their forum at:
http://community.seven.com/forum/index.php?forum=true

there’s a FAQ that has “How long can I use this beta version/when does it expire?”

The answer is “There is an expiration date built in, but for this beta program, we’ve set it for 10 years from the date of installation. So for practical purposes, the beta will be usable until we either shut it down or decide to migrate to something else for business reasons. ”

I find that this has been the best calendar/contacts/email solution for my N85 at least until Google has official calendar sync support for symbian.

I use Nokia Email with an Intellisync server with my company Exchange server for email, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks sync and I use SEVEN Mail to have push Email with my GMail, which also offers Contacts and Calendar sync. I do not use those two to avoid messing up my corporate data.

I forward my Windows Live Hotmail to a free Mail2Web LIVE (Exchange 2003) account so that I can get my email pushed to my E71 (used to do this with my Windows Mobile device that I have just moved from). I don't use it to sync my contacts or calendar. I'm also using OVI which seems to work quite well and I sync my contacts and calendar back to Outlook. Using Outlook Connector I can keep my Windows Live contacts and phone contacts in sync. The Nokia PC suite will also sync calendar information from the phone back to a Windows Live Calendar in Outlook - but Outlook Connector then seems to refuse to update the online Windows Live Calendar - haven't got a work around for that yet.

I use Mail for Exchange for Company email, contacts and calendar. I use the Gmail app for all my gmail needs.

Question for you on RoadSync. I have M4E setup so that during Peak schedule sync is always on. However during this time if I get an email and delete it on my phone, my Outlook is not updated until the next time I get an email (could be hours). In fact pretty much any change made between the time email 1 and email 2 come in is not updated until email 2 is received.

I have M4E setup so Server wins in case of conflict.

Does RoadSync have the same behavior?

Also, does RoadSync change how the calendar handles birthdays. Right now I get an alarm at midnight on the day of birthdays. Actually it does it for any all day event but I don't set alarms for birthdays.

On my E71, I've had issues syncing all-day events with Google using CalSyncS60. I've heard users of the Ovi service complain too. Sounds like the E71 to me.

My fix has been to convert all day events to 8am meetings. Works well actually because you can set '0 minutes before' reminders and it goes off right in the ,morning.

I wonder if Google is testing for this.

Ovi sync has worked well enough for me, other than the Ovi website itself being a tad slow as often as not. However, the tie-in to S60 is a bit worrisome, so I always also sync locally as well (not that I'm planning on leaving S60, but you never know).
