Google Docs, Calendar, and more work fine on the Nokia N900
To answer some reader questions and get some visibility for the N900 in the enterprise world I just posted this article over on my ZDNet blog and think you will be pleased to see Google Docs and more Google services work just fine on the Nokia N900.

Looks “a bit” slow. It’s very slow.
iPhone can do it better.

Whoa…. Im just checking out this Nokia stuff because I haven’t really played around with it much… but…. i was surprised to see a STYLUS in the video. In the year 2009, i don’t think too many real strong smart-phones are coming out with resistive touch screens, especially of that size! I wouldn’t buy one just for that.

@Esteban, the guy could have used the screen without the stylus, it’s just an option to be more precise. I bet if you use it you couldn’t tell the screen is resistive or capacitive.
Resistive nowadays is just as sensitive as capacitive, without multitouch, but with precision.
@Esteban – please spare us the silly comments… The stylus is purely optional and can be used for additional precision (this is a 800×480 screen
One could as well zoom in with a finger-doubeclick and then continue finger-work.

There were 6 or 7 instances of google documents running (all with ajax and heavy on the processing) Typically one would have only one google app running in the browser at a time, I’m sure it would be more fluid when doing so.
The point is, this is the only smartphone out there that can edit google docs, iphone and google’s own android can not. I would love to see a programmer/hacker enable a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to work with this device. And with video out, you’re golden.

but who wants to rely on the web version of google calendar when you absolutely need to do something fast? if i’m standing in front of the judge and he asks me, “counsel, are you available on such and such a date?” i don’t want to be waiting for the interwebz to get back to me; i want it on my phone right now, sync afterwards. what would be so hard about making the n900’s built-in calendar app capable of syncing with google calendar?

‘Iphone can do it better’
Fine, then stick to your Iphone, you have no business fooling about on a site like this, which covers real smartphones.
