Well, Nokia also adds a sales tax on online orders (http://store.nokia.com) — even for shipments to other states (CA).

Called Nokia’s customer service and sales department (1-866-596-6542) for an explanation. Their reply amounted to “go away”.

Brad, you are right. The price is a premium to get it into my hands earlier than everyone else, but to drop the price in the same month is a bit much, I think.

As allaboutsymbian.com reported the camera lens cover scratches the lens and GPS lock is shoddy. This is not the Nokia I know, especially for a “Flagship” device. The only way to fix these problems is to send it in to Nokia. It seems they rushed it to get it to market without their quality testing, which is one major reason why people buy their products.

I wonder why the E71 isn’t on sale – and I wonder if it will drop in price when the E72 comes out?

I am sure a lot of people are kicking themselves after purchasing these devices not too long ago. The way Nokia acts with the prices is ridiculous in my opinion. People bought the N97 for $699. Less than a month later, it was $100 off. Now, the N97 can be picked up online for $529. That is a $170 difference. That is quite a bit of money. Either Nokia desperately needed the money from preorders to actually keep the factories alive, or their devices are really not worth the prices they’re stamped with. Eventually, the consumer will have their say.
