Having problems with the nokia client on my 5800. I had re-formated my phone and now it wont re-install properly. It keeps setting up my emails in the pre-installed client already on the phone and I never get the interface back. Anyone else find this to be true? Am I doing something wrong when I re-install?

To clarify, I believe they are only considering charging for the “Push” feature of Nokia Messaging. I’ve actually turned this off and went to “Check ever 1 hour” to save on battery power. I wish they offered “30 minutes” or even 15, but don’t currently.

I love the new Nokia Messaging client, but I like it even more when it's deepbly integrated into the phone, hence #1 reason I traded in my E71 for the E75. It really is night and day compared to the standard client.

I'm not sure how Nokia plans to charge for this in the future, especially when the E75 is sold with emphasis on this client and unlike the other S60 phones, you can't simply uninstall it and go back to the basic client, that is the only email client on the E75.

Google’s java Gmail app plays very nicely with the 5800 – kinetic scrolling, fast response (even with 1000s of messages), threaded messages, good contacts manager…

I agree with Jeb, just use one of the other free clients available. I don’t know if Nokia will ever charge for the service in the US or not, but the system is designed for a fee-based structure and may be in other countries. I wouldn’t get too worried about it right now though.

@ CN There's no reason for you to have to go up to the $30 data plan if Nokia starts charging for Nokia Email. Just switch to any one of the email clients mentioned in the linked post. I prefer emoze but there are definitely others you can pick from if it doesn't suit you.

If Nokia charges for this, then the E71x will be even more expensive than the BlackBerry BIS data plan for personal email since you’d have to pay AT&T the standard $30 for PDA data plus whatever else Nokia Messaging charges. I love the new Nokia Messaging, but when they charge I am not sure I will stay on board. The older email program that is built in gives me unnamed empty folders and slots, which is annoying.
