Didn’t Apple already block Nokia devices in the US?

I just read over on The iPhone Blog that Apple fired back at Nokia’s latest legal filing and requested a US import ban on Nokia phones. Seems like it is a frivolous lawsuit given how few Nokia devices we even see here in the US doesn’t it? This really wasn’t an unexpected legal move given the filing by Nokia and I think it is all a bunch of posturing moves. Does Nokia really think Apple will be banned from offering iPhones, iPods, and Mac computers in Europe? And does Apple honestly think they can have all Nokia phones banned from the US? It is all a bunch of nonsense as each company works to get money from each other for technologies that each have implemented and believe they own. These filings remind me of two heavyweight boxers in a Rocky movie going toe-to-toe. It will be years before anything actually comes about and in the meantime the lawyers will be living high on the hog.

If you may remember, Nokia kicked off this lawsuit trading escapade when they said Apple wasn’t paying for technologies Nokia developed and everyone else was paying for. That initial lawsuit actually seemed like it was legitimate, but these banning ones are getting a bit ridiculous.

People said the same about the MS Word case too, but we saw what happened with that. No matter how big you are, if you don’t play by the rules (as twisted and backward as they may be) you can still get smacked down.

I can kind of agree with Woody that anything is possible, but the problem is that like you say this will take loooong time to the point that nobody even remembers where it all started.
