Thanks for the review. I am a loyal T-mobile user who is glad to have so great phone and platform options now. I still think my BlackBerry is the best, but I admire the capability that both Android and Nokia have been able to put into their phones.

Android seems like a baby Nokia with lots of promise to be better than Nokia in every way when it grows up. If you want the best tech now, then Nokia has everybody beat with the N900.

As for me, I want phone calls, email, and messaging. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Great review, it's nice getting an Android review from the perspective of a fellow Nokia user. My wife and I both use Nokias and have been for a while now, I'm on my 7th and it's her 5th. I have a 5700 XpressMusic as a secondary phone I use on ATT and we both use 5310's from Tmobile as our main phones. She recently told of she wanted to try the MyTouch as her next phone.... I wasn't exactly warm to that idea but this review put my mind at ease a bit. As for me I'll keep waiting on my N900, any idea if Tmobile will pick it up?

Did they ever get the Vcast issue worked out? My Blackberry rep said Vcast wasn't compatible with the DROID. I too had the chance to test-drive a DROID and that thing is a bunch of hype compared with the My Touch/Hero and the Cliq. I'm glad your review was a bit more diplomatic because I was underwhelmed. I agree if you're considering Android HTC is the way to go. Although the Cliq would be a close 2nd and the best option if you're a Motorola fan. I like the Cliq for the full Qwerty and the remote wipe/gps feature built into the phone. I haven't seen a device that would make me stray from my Nokia but I think Android will be the next dominant mobile OS in the coming years. Android Market is posed to overtake the iTunes App store in the next 5 months and it's been active for 3 fewer years. I have a feeling the multimedia and gaming will be there in the future. S60 is still my fav I just keep my fingers crossed for a Pandora app. I think if Google ended up creating a gaming console similar to Microsoft's XBox the face of Android would change overnight. Many of the Sony Erickson mobile games work on my Nokia as they are programed in Symbian but the nice part is that the device's aren't built around those interests. Google is all about people using their product. It may seem like divergence but, it's really about keeping people connected with their device; which is why most (if not all) of the Google apps are so interactive.

Thanks for the review. I really like the options that are out there for people to choose from. I guess no one smartphone can be an uber device because people have different needs according to what tune their life dances to.

to tell you the truth, one reason i dont want android is the tight integration of gmail and other google services... the same reason i refuse to use iphone... why can't these companies just let the consumers decide what they want to install on their phones and how to use it...

thats why Nokia rocks... I have my eyes set on N900... :)
